Union Station Drawing Final

This assignment was to go to Union station and find a spot to draw that shows a good variation in light. It is the Study of Light from Foundation Drawing class. First we went and sketched a pencil version. After that we went back and finished a corrected perspective drawing of the same picture.
Materials: Canson Mi-Teintes paper, Faber-Castell coloured pencils, pencil, sketch pad, ruler.

Creative Process:
I chose a nice quiet spot tucked away in a corner at Union station where not many people walk by. I like to not be disturbed while I work. After correcting a perspective version of the drawing, I went and got that photo copied onto two different colours of Canson Mi-Teintes paper. One being a light cream colour and the other being a darker blue. The reasoning behind this was that for the two practice drawings I wanted to get a feel of how the drawing would look on both a light as well as a dark coloured paper. In the end I decided I could more easily show a variation in light on the darker paper.

Production Methods/ Workflow:
For the final drawing, which was to be 11in by 14 in minimum, I used a dark red paper. So I went once again and got the perspective drawing blown up and photocopied onto Canson paper. I used mostly yellows and browns to make up my drawing, this helped me to show a good variation in the lighting.
Conclusion:
I know that for this assignment I was successful, my teacher was very happy with my growth over the past few months. That really shows in this drawing in my opinion. Once again I was extremely happy with how this turned out. This medium is my favourite one to work with by far.
